Supreme Confusion....

The Supreme Court, struggling with a vexing social issue, held Monday it was constitutionally permissible to display the Ten Commandments on the grounds of the Texas capitol but that it was a violation of separation of church and state to place them in Kentucky courthouses. I don't get it.... It's OK for some but not for others.... In a court where you place your hand on the Bible and swear to God that you will tell the truth, you can't display the Ten Commandments... Yet the court where that decision was made has a huge Ten Commandments display in it and that's ok.... This court needs a good shakeup... their recent decisions have been so out of whack with where the American people are it's unbelievable... They aren't basing decisions on the Constitution as it is written... they are basing them on other decisions over the years that have twisted what the Constitution says so far out of whack.... Another big one form the other day... Property rights... Your house or property is no longer really yours.... you just pay for it until some investor thinks he can use it better than you can... Then they will forcibly remove you from it and give it to him.... No retirements today. Renquist and O'Connor both should be leaving soon, and it can't be soon enough. We need to get folks on the bench who actually have some respect for the Constitution rather than the ones who think their opinions outweigh everything this country is based on. I know this post is rambling and confusing, but I am just astounded by the arrogance that this Supreme Court has brought us... I'll just end this here and see what comes from everything....

I agree with you totally. And we wonder why our children are so confused!

Amen, brother! I get so fired up about these things that I can't even form a complete coherent thought. I agree with you, though. Happy Monday, guppyman!

I find nothing offensive about the Ten Commandments posted anywhere n this country. This is our country's history and we shouldn't change it to suit others. This is a great country that is why so many have chosen to come here.
If you want to see quotes from the Koran or the Dali Lahma you can sure see them in The Middle East or India. That's what those countries are based on.
Those 10 Commandments are not a bad thing to follow. There's nothing "evil" about it. It doesn't mean Chrisianity is being "forced" upon everyone. It's just words.
If you want to hear evil remember what the Iytolah said "put a sword to the neck of the non-believers"
That is not the case in this country. Too many people getting in a hissy.

I'll just comment on the property rights thing - its completely ridiculous and anti-American. Its big business taking over the little guy. And its sad.

Okay it was me. I try not to let too many people know it's me when it's a controversial topic. I think I found you through True Jersy Girl. I don't know her either because I got linked to her from someone else. So because puremood was sad about not knowing who she was agreeing with I figured I'd better fess up. You probably thought I was guy.
