Immigration reform???????

What is wrong with the folks in the senate??? They seem to want to look the other way when it comes to 11 million criminals- OK... I guess we'll just let you all stay since you're here already... WTF???? What's next... Bank robbers protesting in the streets because there are too many cops? Want an immigration reform bill? Here ya go: 1.) Secure the border! Walls, troops, whatever it takes- put an end to people just walking over whenever they feel like it. 2.) Any time someone is found here illegally, immediately arrest them and have them deported ASAP. 3.) Guest workers? Fine. But they must apply for guest worker status while still in their home country. Any person caught here illegally should be banned from ever getting guest worker status. 4.) Seriously punish anyone who knowingly hires illegal aliens- fines, jail time?!? Make it not worth it to hire them. 5.) Make the citizenship process easier and more widely available to people before they decide to immigrate. Our congress is seriously out of touch with the American people.....

I have to agree...Those that are protesting are not seeing it from the other side, at all.
I agree with every thing on your list. So we ignore those that are here because they are here and thus they get status over those who are waiting in their country and doing things legally?
What about those that pay taxes, legally? We pay for them to live here then? Uh uh.
I agree we are a melting pot, yet it should be done legally...Sneaking in for a better life is not legal or right(meaning asking oh becuase you're here have an oh well tude)
Even those other countries are bashing the US, saying we are too strick? WTF? Well hello..then make the conditions for YOUR citizens better so they will not want to leave? Maybe the US should send those governments bills? THe healthcare, schooling etc....

Here here!

I absolutely agree. I don't understand why we haven't secured our boarders a long time ago from this?

Yes, yes and YES! I've got nothing against people entering this country to seek a better life as long as they do it legally. Excellent post.

Guppy, I don't know what' going on in TX but here in CA literally thousands of HS students have been protesting by leaving school and marching in the streets. One reporter asked one of the young men why he was doing it, but he didn't speak English and couldn't answer. His friends said "who the "f" cares, we just want out of school today". They were all yelling and screaming and waving the Mexican flag demanding their rights. Unreal.

I agree with your post. I know some wonderful immigrants who are here to work hard and make a better life, but how can the government condone something illegal? Why bother having laws.

I'm an immigrant myself -- fresh off of the boat, as they say -- and I completely agree.

Run outside with a big basket -- it's going to rain money -- you and I actually agree on something!

I will add this, though: the kids didn't come here on their own, they were brought. They do have some legitimate fears. The principal at Cy-Fair brought them back inside and spent a couple of hours discussing the issues with them, which was exactly the right way to handle it. Of course, these demonstrations have turned into fun, not serious protest.

The part I have learned not to like is when they throw it in your face that they are getting government money to have their kids over here! Every other month or so my old man comes home telling me about how so and so was bragging that their wife had another kid on us for free. ummm My kid wasn't paid for by the government so why should theirs be?

I don't want this to sound as it does. I am not predjudiced what so ever... but the freedoms they take for granted, we have to struggle for and it is just not fair.
