Just curious....
I have been thinking about the 2 benches I've built for family members... What if I made some of these and sold them...?
Hom much would you pay for something like this? Just trying to get a feel for if I think it's worth it to make these for sale....
BTW - I am not soley responsible for these. My incredible and beautiful wife is quite the artist! I couldn't do this without her. ***She thinks I'm full of shit but I'm not... she is incredible and beautiful and I love her very much.***

I LOVE them both!! As for cost, I have no clue. How long does it take you to make them? Is $100 fair? $200?
I would think $100-$200 would be fair, depending on how much time it takes to make them. Would you sell them in your area or say on ebay?
Just to answer some questions:
The snowmen took me about a week to make (I can probably do it a lot faster, it was my first one), the birdhouses took two days.
Cost is about $40-$50 per bench.
Here is the scale- Here's my sister on the one I built her http://photos10.flickr.com/23778849_e9a9c203b1.jpg
What I am thinking about doing is selling them locally - craft shows mostly. If I can make it profitable to do... I might think about branching out from there. But shipping on one of these would be high.
So far, the two I have built were gifts for family members. I love doing it... getting out in the garage and building things is great! I'd love to figure out a way to turn it into a full time job. If I could turn out one of these a weekend, I'd have a nice little stock ready for a craft show in November... right at the Christmas shopping season.
I would think you could get $75 to $100 each. I'm not sure how big they are. I like them. Have you thought of Dankin Hines shows? I think they are in Texas too!
I would say 100-125 dollars each,, figure if cost for materials is 50 then pay yourself 50-75 a piece to make them. Oh and by the way, Happy Early Birthday!
Those are kewl...make one that looks like a thrown for the ice princezz and we have a deal *griN*
wow. those are awesome! everyone pretty much said it all, but i just had to say how much i really like them. if you could sell them to a company that could then distribute them nationwide, i bet you could make a lot more on them as original art pieces. just an idea.
I would pay $200 plus shipping, no problem. Test the waters on e-bay and good luck. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't sell.
Peace..............
$100 easy - but you could go higher. Awesome work Gup! And Happy early Birthday. No doubt PresentStorm will make your day (and night) extra special ;-)
They're awesome...I have no idea what they would be worth in dollars and prices are so different here! If they were to sell over here though I would say about £30-£40!
I have seen people at craft shows here pay alot more than $200 for a similiar bench. The lady had one for the Bucs and it sold for over $400. I say go for it and see if it works! I would buy one.
HAPPY BRITHDAY, GUPPY!!!
Happy Birthday guppy!
Hey I heard a rumor that it was your birthday...what? No self serving birthday post? AAHAHAHAHA! Just wanted to stop by and send you wonderful b-day wishes! Hope it was great!
I love them. You could get pretty much what everyone said for them. They have a really big show in Savannah, Christmas Made in the South and I bet you could get 200+ there for them. Happy Birthday
Hey I live in Houston too...I think they are way cute. Let me know if you start selling them. I'd love to possibly purchase. You could definately sell them for a nice about, especially if they were customized. For example, maybe you could do charactures of someone's kids on their bench. It's a cute idea! Good luck.
You should definately take them to some of the vendors in the Montrose area... there are tons of artsy shops over there.
